Take your passion for dance to the next level with our GCSE Dance programme. This exciting two-year course combines practical performance, choreography and dance theory, helping students develop as versatile, confident and knowledgeable dancers.

The course is made up of three key elements:
Performance – developing technical and expressive dance skills through practical work.

Choreography – creating and performing original dance pieces.
Written Examination – a 90-minute written exam completed at the end of the two-year course, hosted by Tutors & Exams in St Neots.

Students will explore a variety of dance styles, learn how to create and analyse choreography, and gain a deeper understanding of professional dance works. Alongside practical training, dancers will develop valuable skills in creativity, communication, critical thinking, teamwork and performance technique.
No previous dance experience is required, but a genuine love of dance and a willingness to learn are essential.

You do not need to be a current Motion Dance Academy student to enrol, and dancers are welcome to continue training and attending classes at other dance schools alongside the course. We believe GCSE Dance should complement your existing dance training, not replace it.

Enrolment is available once per year, with students committing to the full two-year GCSE course. To ensure the programme is the right fit, all students will receive a trial month during September 2026 before confirming their place for the remainder of the course.

This course is perfect for students considering Dance, Musical Theatre or Performing Arts at college level, providing a strong foundation in both the practical and academic aspects of dance while gaining a nationally recognised qualification.
